Discovering new futures in cerebral palsy research and therapy

Impossible To Possible

This mini-summit is a fundraiser for research into Spinal Neuromodulation at The Broccoli Impossible-To-Possible Lab led by Dr. Reggie Edgerton and Dr. Susan Hastings

Dr. Reggie Edgerton, a renowned neuroscientist, has spent his career studying spinal circuitry, neuromodulation, and recovery after spinal cord injury, exploring how targeted spinal cord stimulation may drive changes in both movement and overall brain connectivity. With over 1000 papers published, he is widely considered the grandfather of spinal neuromodulation and his research forms the foundation for applying this approach to cerebral palsy.

Dr. Susan Hastings is a highly experienced pediatric physical therapist who has translated neuromodulation science into real-world results for children and adults with CP. Her clinical insights and collaboration with Dr. Edgerton have enabled research around neuromodulation to be more effective at targeting the unique needs of children born with neurmotor disabilities (as opposed to acquired injuries).

Their journey has been one of curiosity, humility, and fierce dedication to helping children achieve the impossible. What began as an unexpected clinical observation from Dr Hastings has turned into an ethical exploration of one of the most promising interventions we’ve seen for children with Cerebral Palsy and other developmental disabilities this century

You're invited to be part of this journey ❤️

There are a dozen ways to “get up to speed” on spinal neuromodulation...

You could:

• 📖 Skim academic papers between clients (who has time to make sense of it all)
• 🖥️ Scour the internet to connect the dots from social media posts to flashy reels (if you're not uneasy about the fluff and marketing spin)
• 🙋‍♀️ Follow clinicians sharing their own take (but might be unsure about how they developed their approach)

Or you could join this mini-summit!

It’s your fast track to what’s really working (and what isn’t) in this cutting-edge area of practice.

You’ll get access to the kind of wisdom that only comes from thousands of hours of documented observation, research and collaboration between experienced clinicians and researchers.

Understand the science, clinical advances and current research to help make  decisions that truly serve the kids you work with.

What is Transcutaneous Spinal Neuromodulation (TSN)?

In the most simplistic terms, TSN is a non-surgical spasticity treatment.

Significant changes in spasticity are seen within 4 months across age-groups and severity levels and TSN enhances effectiveness of other therapeutic intervention by facilitating access to underlying movement and coordination through the spinal cord-brain connection.

It may be one of the biggest breakthroughs in the treatment of cerebral palsy in this decade - BUT a powerful treatment demands responsibility.

This is not about chasing quick wins or mimicing what we’ve seen online. We can’t experiment on children without fully understanding the whole picture — the risks, the ripple effects, and the potential for both help and harm.

This mini-summit is designed to give you that big-picture view so you can stand out as a trusted, ethical, and truly informed practitioner in a field that’s still unfolding.

Nobody has more knowledge & Experience

Dr Reggie Edgerton is the most published author on spinal cord globally (over 1,000 articles) and widely considered the father of spinal neuromodulation. His ongoing partnership with Dr. Susan Hastings speaks volumes. Their collaboration bridges hard science and real-world application with a clarity that’s been missing from the conversation.

Because anyone can slap electrodes on a child and say they’re doing something. But the partnership of a world-class neuroscientist and a seasoned, intuitive pediatric therapist is uniquely powerful in cutting through the noise, the hype, and the misinformation.

Clinical Advances in Spinal Neuromodulation:

A Mini Summit

Here's how it works

We kick off the first week of September with a live keynote presentation from Dr. Susan Hastings, exploring TSN vs. other neuromodulation approaches - followed by open Q&A.

You’ll get 5 pre-recorded Expert Sessions

One released every second day, giving you space to absorb each one at your own pace.

We wrap with a live 90-minute live panel featuring Dr. Reggie Edgerton, Susan Hastings, our clinical experts, Casey, the teenager featured in the above video how has with experience of TSN for cerebral palsy.

Note: The expert sessions originally aired during our 2024 Clinical Excellence Summit. If you were a Clinical Excellence Summit participant, this is your chance to get updated information on TSN and revisit material with new eyes and deeper context, alongside the original experts themselves.
